What Does a Biblically Accurate Angel Look Like?

In the 12th century, scholars divided the angels around God into categories based on a hierarchical system. In Christianity, this is referred to as the three spheres and the nine orders of angels, because it describes a three-tier system with three types of angels in each tier. But near the bottom of this Hierarchy are the Cherubim. That’s not to say that heaven does not have its fair share of human-like angels. But, since they don’t change our perception of what angels look like, we’ll focus on the Biblically accurate angels who would actually be scary.

The Book of Tobit is not, however, acknowledged by most Protestant denominations. In it Raphael says to Tobias that he was “one of the seven who stand before the Lord”, and it is generally believed that Michael and Gabriel are two of the other six.
